Oh, Brian, you're so cute when being naive. 
Senator Rick Scott was CEO of a company that by itself did 1.7 billion in fraud against Medicare. And he has yet to face prosecution. Since his criminal activity, he's been elected Florida governor, and now Senator. He's a possible POTUS candidate in the future. Think what HE could do with the new SCOTUS ruling. He already stole 1.7 billion from Americans; what could he do with carte blanche protection? 
Yes, these folks are scum and villainy; but they're pikers compared to Ricky. True amateurs. He's the lowest form; their pale imitators by comparison.
