New assault on free speech and abortion

So South Carolina wants to ban abortion from the time that someone rolls over on the wet spot. I believe I predicted this end point by the crazies on the right. 

Also, they want to criminalize TALKING about abortion. No discussion, no referrals by doctors, no web sites giving out information. 

Pretty clear 1A violation. Can't suppress speech just because you don't like it. 

SC wants to call it aiding and abetting a felony. 

The way around this is for a woman who doesn't want to get pregnant to do what is called "
"menstrual extraction". That involves gently suctioning out the tissue that is normally shed at the time of a menstrual period. It's a rarely used procedure for women who have painful periods. But it's legal/approved. And since it's too early to do a pregnancy test, presto, no abortion. Probably not a great investment opportunity (Dave); but someone could set up clinics around the state to perform the procedure. Or Planned Parenthood could offer the service. 

Actually,, back in the '60's, when the woman's movement was gearing up, this procedure was published as something that could be done by the woman herself. Expect some self-help sites to pop up.
