Problems with the SAVE Act

This is a good article. 

One problem with the SAVE Act comes from Trump's mouth. He says that passage will keep Republicans in power for "forever" or "at least 50 years". Nothing like saying the loud  part out loud

Bigger problem is that the ID requirements are to take effect immediately. That's a clear attempt to rig the 2026 elections. Even if ID  proof of citizenship is a good idea, making it an immediate law would clearly leave millions of voters unable to comply. If you don't have your birth cert, you're screwed. You can't get a passport, the other suggested ID. It could take weeks/months to get proof of citizenship; it could be impossible. 

The facet of the law that makes it go into effect has the clear motive of rigging the next election cycle. 

Not a surprise for this admin.
