So Brian, did you vote for this? If you voted for Trump, or third party or not at all, you did. There are now MANY who voted for Trump that now express buyer's remorse. And this is why. ICE is a masked goon squad, reminiscent of Gestapo types. Citizens are not only being detained, but done so harshly. If local police handled things like this, they'd be sued (and lose) for police brutality. 

But under Trump it's all okay. And you,  putative Libertarian, small gov't, personal freedom advocate say NADA. Isn't that smell from having your head up your ass beginning to bother you?

Thanks G. I wonder if BK, during his tenure in law enforcement, treated people with this level of cruelty. 

I bet not. But now that he's on the sidelines, downing Ho-ho's while cruising the interstates, he's suddenly comfortable with unlawful detentions and police misconduct. 

Remember the guy who wrote, "When they came for............I didn't speak up" Well, now that US citizens no longer enjoy long  established rights, it may become open season on FWT's and other older white MAGA-ites, too. Any protections that BK, or anyone else, thought that being a citizen of the US conferred, are in jeopardy. (Please don't call the grammar patrol on me for that parsing.)

BK should recall that 1A grants the right to assemble PEACEFULLY, and the redress grievances against the gov't. He's just miffed because the "wrong" people are exercising those rights. 

Where are those "fine people", all white, carrying tiki torches, shouting "Jews will not replace us"? Those are who's 1A is for. Not those snowflake libs and their Black/Brown co-conspirators.

So Brian, another way to talk about this is to ask you to do a little snooping and SHOW us what offenses justified the mis-handling of these people. Then explain how it's justified in a country that has a presumption of innocence. That would work better than your "commie/pinko/hippy/queer/twatwaffle" invectives. Got anything that doesn't come from the Fox/NY Post propaganda machine? As for this article, the young woman in question was yanked out of her car, passenger side. So you'll really need to work hard to explain what she was doing to deserve this treatment.

I saw it with my crazy acquaintance on Facebook. She had been the director at my kid's daycare. Really kind, caring lady. Really loved the kids. Was always religious, and introduced a little bit of that at the daycare, but mostly just in passing: "Jesus loves you"...."thank the lord for this beautiful day"...all kosher.  But not long after she retired from that, her husband of many years passed away and she moved to middle of nowhere by herself...and lost her center. She started crawling down some rabbit holes and.....the world lost her forever. Even her child, a religious conservative himself....lamented her demise and tried to help her. To no avail. 

When the strings that bind us to the REAL world start to sever.....that's when the delusions and the conspiracies creep in to fill the void. And you end up losing people entirely. 

She's still got a good heart, but the head is lost.

Thought about you just now though. I just had to complete my company's Diversity training. Oh boy! You'd have loved it! Brian, you didn't listen/read carefully. The DRIVER of the car MIGHT have been guilty of following too closely, or boxing in ICE agents, etc. But you have ZERO reason to claim that. All I ask for is some, ANY, proof that what you allege is true. And if it were true, why were they released. 

Now, that said, the person I was talking about was the PASSENGER in the car. She wasn't doing anything but sitting in a car. So, once again, you're asked, "What did the car passenger do that justified HOURS of detention? And have you ever detained someone that long on that kind of flimsy cause?

I and my friend, while driving through Wisconsin in 1970 in an OLD VW bus, were stopped in relation to a bombing at the university math dept. Now that seemed okay,, then and 55 years later. Out of state college age, etc. Worth looking into. The process happened at the roadside, took less than an hour. And it was over a murder, bombing. 

Now tell us again why THIS person was help for HOURS. That's not legal under any circumstances.

How long does it take to QUESTION someone, BK? If it takes hours for such a simple issue, you're talking way too slow.. 

How long would it have taken you? It took Wisconsin hwy patrol less than an hour to let me my friend get on our way. And we weren't yanked out of the vehicle, cuffed, or manhandled in any fashion. And this was a murder/terrorism event. 

I'll channel G here and express sadness that someone who has discussed things (in the past) like you have is suddenly so comfortable with obvious gov't overreach. 

If tiki torch carriers had been treated like this, you'd be yelling about 1A and 2A from the top of your lungs. But commie/pinko/hippy/queers just don't get that level of protection.
