Now THAT'S a fish!!!

The Wels catfish is a frequent target for Jeremy Wade on "River Monsters". They have been alleged to have eaten people. Looks like this one has been at an all-you-can-eat buffet.

I have a sister in law who is from Poland......maybe i should ask her about this reservoir.

As for me......no thank you! Even the occasional 2-4 pounder I catch at the Ozarks is big and ugly enough that I don't want much to do with it. Catfish are.....yucky fish. 

Highlight of my fishing life was lipping the 8 pound, 23" large mouth that my dad caught at the Ozarks about 25 years ago.....what a fish. She's hanging on our wall (well, a replica is...the real fish was, of course, caught and released).

G, after discussing the Mongolian Taiman, I didn't actually figure you'd be booking a trip to Poland. These catfish are all over Europe. They catch big ones in Spain. The "River Monsters" guy caught one in Chernobyl. The Russian gov't gave him permission to fish there. Creepy. But the fish looked like...............  a fish. Didn't glow or anything. For a scum-sucking bottom feeder, I'd have thought it might have consumed a lot radioactive crap.
