Nothing wrong here. Celebrate the losing side.
Lee actually was tapped by Lincoln to lead the Union Army. He decided at the last minute to represent Virginia. He spoke out against slavery; said it was hard on white owners.
He had a leadership role at West Point. But his choice of the South was treason. He doesn't deserve this recognition. Guessing that his portrait comes down very soon after a Democrat becomes POTUS. Maybe a Northern Republican could do the same.
