When you finish the game, look back at the chapter names. Pay close attention to the first letter of each chapter title. If you look at only the first letter of each title, the letters you get spell out "Nicole is dead."

In Chapter 6, after fighting the final creature that spills the gas out, there is a dim, flashing sign just before the anti-grav area. This is a codex for some of the letters and all of the numbers in the alien language.

Purchase the Contact Gun as soon as you can and its ammo will start appearing around the ship. If you can resist using it, just sell all of the ammo you collect for scores of credits -- 1,000 per unit!

Conserving ammunition is vital as you get deeper into the ship. The old exploit from Resident Evil 4 works with the weapons here too. When you are out of ammo and have a Bench and several Power Nodes, you can refill the ammunition in the weapon to its new maximum by upgrading to a capacity node in that weapon.

This is one of a few places you can exploit the game's placement of items. In mission 3, you are tasked to restart the Ishimura's engines. On your way to the engine room, there is a node locked door next to a set of malfunctioning, fast shutting doors.

Do not take items from the node locked room, but unlock the door and use the kinesis module to move the items (money, medikit, schematics, ammo) out of the secret room and leave them anywhere on the ground.

Use stasis to bypass the fast-closing doors and go to the end of the hallway to a save point outside the engine room. You do not need to save, just touch the save point. This gets you far enough from the node locked room to duplicate the items.

This exploit stops working if you take any of the items (i.e., if you take the medikit, the medikit stops respawning) or when there are too many items on the screen (about 30 or so). If you need more stasis to get by the door, use the "Restore Stasis Energy" code seen on this page.

You can get the Peng achievement by using Kinesis to pick up the Peng Statue in Chapter 11. It's in the room where you first landed on the Ishimura and exited the Kellion. Look between the two walkways and you should see a little golden item on the floor.

Dead Space is one of the scariest titles of all time. Roaming around the claustrophobic halls of the USG Ishimura and tackling wave upon wave of horrifying necromorphs is not an enticing prospect in the slightest, but it's the brilliant level design and haunting story of Dead Space that forces players to get over their fears and tackle the threats that lie within.

That being said, there are bound to be certain players who would simply prefer to play through the game at their pace instead of being forced into making errors due to their nerves. To make the act of playing Dead Space easier, these players can utilize the following cheats to great effect.

Any person who plays Dead Space will quickly realize just how important Power Nodes really are. These items are critical to ensure that players end up surviving the dangerous trek through the USG Ishimura. It's a critical resource that can be used to either upgrade the player's inventory or unlock rooms that feature a whole bunch of goodies... including more Power Nodes, at times!

So, it's only a given that players would want to acquire as many Power Nodes as possible. While roaming the halls of Dead Space and seeking out these items is great in its own right, it's very much probable that players might want to avoid any issues or annoyances that stem from a lack of these resources and the boredom involved in attaining the same.

To avoid this problem, players can use the power of cheats instead to procure some extra Power Nodes that can help them out on their journey. There are two cheats that can be used to obtain these Nodes... but keep in mind that these cheats can only be used once.

Credit is basically money in the universe of Dead Space. Players use these credits to purchase ammo, weapons, Power Nodes, and everything else along the same lines. So, it only goes without saying that a player would be served well in Dead Space by obtaining and using as many credits as possible.

That being said, finding credits isn't exactly the easiest task in the world. More often than not, players will have too many things to buy and not enough money to buy them. It's at these moments that the economy of Dead Space ends up being a major thorn in the player's side.

To alleviate the pain caused by a lack of credits, players can use the following cheats to get a substantial amount of credits. However, just like the Power Nodes cheat, this code can also only be used once.

Oxygen is a valuable resource in Dead Space, which is to be expected given the fact that Isaac is stuck in space after all. For the most part, the player won't have to worry about their oxygen levels... especially at the start of the game. However, as the game progresses and becomes more complex, players will have to go through environments with no breathable oxygen. It's at these moments that managing oxygen levels and ensuring Isaac's survival becomes key.

So, it can be quite irritating at times when players are backed into a corner time and time again when their oxygen levels are consistently low. In this situation, the player is better off using cheats to replenish their oxygen levels and prevent any unnecessary frustrations from negatively impacting their experience with the game. Unlike the other cheats in Dead Space, the player can repeat this cheat endlessly to refill Isaac's oxygen levels.

Stasis is easily one of the most powerful modules in the entire game. The ability to slow enemies down at a moment's notice in order to get some breathing room is invaluable in a game where the player feels tense at each and every junction.

However, the Statis Module can't be spammed whenever the player wishes. This module has limited uses and needs some time to recharge before players can use it again. This can prove to be extremely inconvenient during especially tense encounters when the player is being swarmed by necromorphs.

Players who don't want to face the horrors of losing out on the functionality of Stasis can use the following cheat to refill the module's power instantly. This cheat can be used repeatedly just like the Oxygen cheat.
