Kannada Phrase of the Day - 8
Dear All,
Good evening. I am adding one more the word that can be used to convey
question in Kannada. The current list is below. The additions and
their examples follow.
yelli: where
yellige: where to
yaava: which, yaavudu: which one
yaavaga: when
yeenu: what
yaake: why
yellinda: where from?
(yelli: where, inda: from).
This usage is similar to 'yellige' which means where to.
(yelli: where, 'ge': to)
Examples for using it:
1. ii tarakaari yellinda baratte? Where do these vegetables come from?
ii: this/these
tarakaari: vegetable/vegetables

baratte: come (neuter gender)
Answer: naavu tarakaari na (tarakaariyannu) devanahaLLi inda
tartiivi(taruttiivi ). We bring these vegetables from Devanahalli.
(words in brackets denote the grammatically correct way of saying
things)
naavu: we
tarakaari: vegetables (tarakaari na: "subhji-yonkho)
inda: from
tartiivi: we bring (tartiini: i bring), (tartaare: they bring),
