Kannada Phrase of the Day – 18
Dear All,
Good evening. An important part of the last 3 emails was also the
usage
of different tenses. Here is the summary w.r.t tenses:
I shall use the verb 'oodu' (to read) as the example.
1. ooduttaane: He reads.
2. oodutta idaale: She is reading.
3. oodidaru: He read (past tense).
4. oodutta idaru: They were reading.
Future tense usage is similar to present tense, but understood in the
context of the sentence.
For example:
avaLu naaLe ooduttaaLe: She shall read tomorrow. (future tense)
avaLu cennaagi ooduttaaLe: She reads well/nicely. (present tense)
Pronunciation note: c = ch
Please let me know if you are having any trouble or doubts in using
your
Kannada sentences.
Thanks and regards,
Sham
