Kannada Phrase of the day - 16

Dear All,

Good evening. This is in continuation of the 'Them' class introduced
in
the last email.

avanu: He

Phrase for today:
avaLu: She (singular)

Pronunciation: (ava-Lu) Lu as in BengaLuru (formed with the tongue
curled back against the roof of the mouth.

Usage:
1. AvaLu tumba koopa maadkotaaLe: She gets angry a lot.

avaLu: she
tumba: a lot (too much)
koopa (k-O-pa): anger
maaDkootaaLe (maaD-kO-thaa-Le): 'she gets'.

2. Maneyalli avaLee tinDi maaDkootaaLe: At home, she herself cooks
breakfast (for her).

mane+alli = maneyalli (at home).
avaLu+ee = avaLee (Herself)
tinDi = breakfast
maaDkootaaLe: 'does it herself'

Please note the difference in the meaning of maaDkootaaLe based on the
context of the two sentences.

Exercise:
Try using these sentences when you are referring to him rather than
her.
For the previous email, try using the same sentences for the female
singular gender.
