Hello everyone,

I’m currently developing a Japanese kanji learning app and using the KanjiVG dataset for stroke and vector data.
I’d also like to include pictographic illustrations that visually express each kanji’s meaning or origin (something simple and educational for learners.)

However, due to copyright restrictions, I can’t include pictographs from existing commercial sources, so I’m exploring whether there are open-license or community-based projects that provide kanji pictographs, or if anyone has experience creating such visuals (for example, using AI or custom illustration).

If anyone could share advice, related resources, or ideas on how to generate or license pictograph-style images safely, I’d really appreciate your guidance.

Thank you very much for your time and for the great KanjiVG project!

Best regards,

Bibek
