Hello everyone! I'm having the same trouble that a few other people have been having. because there doesn't seem to be a general solution posted, I'll go ahead and describe my problem:

I can create new 3D apps fine, but when I try to open up a previously made one, I can't connect to it. If I try to open it with the 3D App editor, then go to "Test Changes," the server starts but when I log in to the explorer it either fails at the update process (saying that there is an error, "Timeout"), or it gives me the error "No servers found for the app with ID of xxxx" with my app's ID number.

The server is up and running and doesn't appear to be having problems, which leads me to believe there is a communication problem somewhere. My router is a 2Wire 2701HG-B. I followed the Platform installation instructions, as well as this Guide for installing the platform. I should note that the guide seems to reference a different version of the official platform installation instructions, as it talks about port forwarding, which is no longer found in the official instructions.

I created the Firewall rule named Game, and also port-forwarded the port 25857 to my machine. I didn't forward TCP port 80, because when I did, my internet stopped working.

I typed in

into my browser, but I was unable to connect. Firefox said "Unable to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1."

I also typed http://localhost into my browser bar, but I wasn't able to connect to that either. I got the message "Unable to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost."

Thanks for your help!

This solution worked for me...

If you open HFS it should basically look like this.  If you don’t see “PatchFiles” under Virtual File System then it has lost its configuration for that directory.

If this is the case you can add it again by clicking “Menu”, “Add folder from disk”.  If this isn’t the case then there is another problem and you should minimize HFS.  Don’t close as it will stop running.

Then select the patchfiles directory

The default full path to the patch files directory on 64bit machines is

C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaneva\Kaneva Platform\PatchFiles

On 32 bit machines it is

C:\Program Files\Kaneva\Kaneva Platform\PatchFiles

Make sure HFS is running. It should be in the task bar. If not, run the exe. On WIndows 7 it's at C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaneva\Kaneva Platform\HFS\HFS.exe

We have seen this issue before with later versions of windows. This
happens when HFS (a free web server we install) does not properly
restart. Try starting the HFS service manually at C:\Program Files
(x86)\Kaneva\Kaneva Platform\HFS\HFS.exe. Then yry the localhost URL
you posted previously. If this doesnt work post back here again.
