My husband 2 kids and 1 stayed here for 4 nights in August. They boys loved fishing off the dock and kayaking in the crystal clear lake. I appreciated the screened in porch with Great Lake views. Beds were comfy. Location was great to see other Dinger lakes wineries and many state parks. While there we visited Watkins Glenn, Robert Treman, and Letchworth State parks. All spectacular! One of the days we drove to the north end of the lake and rented a boat. All the logistics and booking checking in were very easy and someone always responded to my questions. What a wonderful getaway.
This is an amazing house in a great location with beautiful views and fantastic neighbors! We were sad to leave after 3 short days and are planning a return. After growing up on Canandaigua Lake I was worried about it living up to our expectations and it far exceeded them. The pictures do not do this house justice, absolutely beautifully renovated! We spend every moment we were awake outside enjoying our family time! Thank you for sharing your home.
The property was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked and the screened in porch was great with a 1 year old. The neighbors on both sides of the property were very friendly and helpful with questions about the area.

Recombinant antibodies offer several key advantages compared to traditional antibodies. These include superior lot-to-lot consistency, continuous supply, and animal-free manufacturing. As such, recombinant antibodies are seeing increased use for scientific research, especially as a means of addressing the ongoing reproducibility crisis.
Traditional polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies are the product of normal B cell development and genetic recombination. They are generated by immunizing an animal with an antigen to elicit an immune response. While polyclonal antibodies are secreted by many different B cell clones and recognize multiple antigenic epitopes, monoclonals originate from a single B cell clone and are specific for just one epitope.
Recombinant antibodies are monoclonal, but their production involves in vitro genetic manipulation. After cloning the antibody genes into an expression vector, this is then transfected into an appropriate host cell line for antibody expression. Mammalian cell lines are most commonly used for recombinant antibody production, although cell lines of bacterial, yeast, or insect origin are also suitable.
Because recombinant antibody production involves sequencing the antibody light and heavy chains, it is a highly controlled and reliable process. In contrast, hybridoma-based systems for producing monoclonal antibodies are subject to genetic drift and instability, increasing the potential for lot-to-lot variability or loss of antibody expression. Recombinant antibodies are highly consistent from lot to lot, thereby ensuring reproducible experimental results.
In vitro methods for producing antibodies are amenable to large-scale production, meaning antibody availability is unlikely to become a limiting factor. Moreover, since the recombinant antibody sequence is known, continuity of supply is assured; in situations where an antibody will be used to support large, long-term studies, this can be an especially critical factor.
When using primary antibodies produced in mouse to detect proteins with a molecular weight in the range of 50 kDa, we recommend using Rabbit Anti-Mouse IgG (Light Chain Specific) (D3V2A) mAb (HRP Conjugate) (#58802) as a secondary antibody to minimize interference produced by denatured mouse heavy chain.
The inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family consists of an evolutionarily conserved group of apoptosis inhibitors containing a conserved 70 amino acid BIR (baculovirus inhibitor repeat) domain (1,2). Human members of this family include c-IAP1, c-IAP2, XIAP, survivin, livin, and NAIP. Overexpression of IAP family members, particularly survivin and livin, in cancer cell lines and primary tumors suggests an important role for these proteins in cancer progression (3-5). In general, the IAP proteins function through direct interactions to inhibit the activity of several caspases, including caspase-3, caspase-7, and caspase-9 (5,6). In addition, binding of IAP family members to the mitochondrial protein Smac blocks their interaction with caspase-9, thereby allowing the processing and activation of the caspase (2).
Livin (BIRC7/ML-IAP) is a potent anti-apoptotic IAP family member containing a single BIR domain and RING finger motif that is highly expressed in human melanomas and absent in normal tissues (5,7). It is localized in the nucleus and diffusely in the cytoplasm (5). The livin gene encodes two splicing variants, a 298 amino acid isoform (α) and a 280 amino acid form (β), with different biological activity to various apoptotic stimuli (8). In addition to directly inhibiting caspase activity, livin can promote the degradation of the pro-apoptotic protein Smac through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway (9). Its preferential expression in tumor cells, along with several studies showing that downregulation of livin can promote apoptosis, has led to studies analyzing the use of livin in cancer therapy (10).
