The video, posted on Twitter on Monday, showed a lingerie-clad Cardi B descending a staircase, saying, "I have an announcement to make tomorrow, bye." A few hours later, she announced that her latest single, Up, would be arriving this week. It is unclear if the Kaliyon Ka Chaman will be sampled in the song.

"Is that 90s bollywood music in the background?" one person wondered. "OMG an Indian song in the background," wrote another. Cardi's last release was WAP, her chart-topping team up with Megan Thee Stallion.

Kaliyon Ka Chaman, originally performed by Lata Mangeshkar for the film Jyoti, in 1981, as Thoda Resham Lagta Hai, was later remixed by Harry Anand in the early 2000s. It was also sampled by Dr Dre and Truth Hurts, in the song Addictive.

Naidu's first major appearance was in the music video for UMI10's "Kaliyon Ka Chaman" (2002),[1][2] an official remix of Lata Mangeshkar's 1981 song "Thoda Resham Lagta Hai" (in turn, the 2002 song "Addictive" by Truth Hurts was inspired by the remix). She was also featured in Saru Maini's video "Dil De Diya Tha (Sutta Mix)"[citation needed] before starting to work in Indian films.

Meghna Naidu burst into our screens in 2002 with the sexed-up version of Kaliyon Ka Chaman, a song originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar for the movie Jyoti which starred Jeetendra and Hema Malini. This Kaliyon Ka Chaman had Meghna show us what belly dancing really meant, and that was all which was needed to propel the pretty girl into Bollywood. Since then, the actress has worked in in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi movies (including Hawas #neverforget) and she posts some really cute pictures on her Instagram. Have a look!

Bappi's song 'Thoda Resham Lagta Hai' from the 1981 film 'Jyoti' fell into anonymity for over two decades. However, it gained nationwide attention in 2002 when it was sampled by American producer DJ Quik for the Truth Hurts song 'Addictive'. Steve "Static Major" Garrett wrote the song's lyrics, and the record was produced by DJ Quik. Dr Dre was the Executive Producer. Quik had sampled for its instrumental track a Hindi song he heard on TV one morning. The sample turned out to be 'Thoda Resham Lagta Hai' by Lata Mangeshkar, but Aftermath neglected to clear the rights to the song.

This led to a legal dispute that was ultimately resolved in 2003. On September 12, 2002, Saregama filed a $500 million lawsuit against Aftermath and parent company Universal Music Group, and filed a request to stop further performances or broadcasts of the 'Addictive' song. Watch the original song here:

Bappi Da won the copyright case against western musician Dr Dre. Shortly thereafter, the original song was remixed by Indian composer Harry Anand as 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman', which was sung by Assamese singer Shaswati Phukan.

Cardi B recently revealed a new song titled Bongos, a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. This track marks their first joint release since WAP in 2020 which was a major hit. Bongos is scheduled to drop this Friday, September 8. However, it was Cardi B's announcement video featuring Lata Mangeshkar's Kaliyon Ka Chaman that stirred up excitement among Indians.

If you are a 90s person then I am sure you must be remembering the iconic song Kaliyon Ka Chaman. That remix era was too awesome to be forgotten and gave birth to several artists who became a part of it. This was in the early 2000s when Meghna Naidu made headlines with her iconic remix rendition.

When the magic starts to rainJyothi - Kaliyon Ka Chaman - -ka-chaman-lyrics-english-translation.html
Are a few clouds as
Kajal similar to the
And a few rain drops
This heart is crazy
If the time falls to the youth
Some bumblebees are there
All are in the noise
Many storms are on

This is quite ironic, given the other plagiarism hasn't been contested by the original rights holders, and Saregama and Bappi Lahiri should consider themselves lucky that they haven't been sued yet. Jyoti contains another song in the soundtrack, 'Chidiya Chon Chon', sung by Kishore Kumar. The song is an unabashed copy of a very famous song called 'Mary Ann', by one of the legends of Calypso music, Roaring Lion (real name: Rafael de Leon). Lion was born in Trinidad in 1908 and began singing in calypso tents around 1927. In 1934, a local record store owner Eduardo Sa Gomes arranged for Lion to travel to New York to record for the American Record Company. During the 1930s and 1940s, Lion recorded repeatedly in New York and one such song was 'Mary Ann'.

In the video, Cardi B is seen climbing down the stairs in a bikini. She says that she has some annoucement to make. And the moment she says 'bye' to her fans, the Kaliyon Ka Chaman song plays in the background and the pop singer decends with an attitude. And Cardi B certainly grabbed the attention of the Indian audience who couldn't believe that the singer just used Bollywood's 80s song in her video. This is not the first time Cardi B used an Indian reference in her social media posts. Last year, she had posed as Goddess Durga for the cover of a magazine called Footwear News. Among her 10 hands, she is holding a shoe in one of them. Upset Indians called her out for cultural appropriation. Several international artists have shown their 'desi' love in some or the other way. Many singers have featured the 'Indianess' in their music video, social media posts, at events and more. The latest international singer to join the feat is none other than Cardi B. The ace rapper took to her social media pages and shared a video in which she talks about making an announcement. In the backdrop, one can hear the hit retro song 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman' sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
