I know about the MAS activation scripts that work by HWIDGEN and the Kms but i was wondering why windows can no longer be permanently activated without sending a ticket to microsoft's servers or by creating a fake licensing server as what is done by kms. Like if you activate windows permanently through a hardware license wouldnt that be stored somewhere, so why is it not possible that we can directly manipulate within windows itself the OS activation state like how almost all programs are "actually" cracked. Or is permanent activation not what it sounds to be and windows is periodically checking your license through the internet ? Or is it because windows has some crazy drm/security feature that prevents tampering with the activation state ? There is even kms38 which renews the license every 38 years so its practically permanent (all kms are because they just renew after 180 days) but why not just patch the os and there is a more reliable and fundamental way of activating windows ?
