Implementing cache in clustered environment.

Last week I was searching for the easy way to implement 2nd level cache in clustered environment. However, I realized the implementation mechanism is  very much dependent with the cache provider.For example, ehcache has its own set of techniques, coherence has its own... hazelcast.. etc ect..
Like Kaleido cache, can we think about similar contribution in distributed environment?

you are right, each cache provider has its own configurations / topology / .. and a custom API (cache query, events...)
kaleido caching mechanism is a way to abstract the cache API, but we still have the custom cache configuration to create (local or distributed).

what you wish is interesting, I will have a look to integrate kaleido for hibernate 2nd level cache.
if you ever have some samples, I'm interesting
