optional-silence in arabic ASR

Hello Everybody

[I work on Arabic ASR]optional-silence

Can any one  explain for me what is the effect for "optional-silence" on my ASR system?

Becuase I get this WARNING:

analyze_phone_length_stats.py: WARNING: optional-silence SIL is seen only 34.0934166973% of the time at utterance begin.  This may not be optimal.

analyze_phone_length_stats.py: WARNING: optional-silence SIL is seen only 32.6191355744% of the time at utterance end.  This may not be optimal.

and I don't understand what it's mean

You don't have to worry about this too much, it's only an informative message. In short, it means 2/3 of your utterances does not start with at least a couple of frames of silence.

Might be normal for high-noise recordings.
