Are you sure you mean $0 and not #0? Anyway, likely it means your tree was built from a different `lang` directory than the one you are providing to that script-- specifically, its list of phones is likely different, so that the disambig symbol in the lang directory you supplied was a phone in the lang directory you built the tree with.
