First check if you have GPU on your machine. Also update the drivers to the latest

How should I compile kaldi with cuda.

If I am installing nvcc, idk somehow GPU is getting disabled.

Normally when you compile kaldi in the src folder the make file has steps. It automatically compiles with cuda because it is true

Go back to src folder of your kaldi and check configure file. Check if cuda or GPU is true

Also try installation of cuda toolkit on your machine from Nvidia website
