Any registered voter may request a mail-in ballot. Absentee ballots can be requested by voters with disabilities or an illness that prevents them from going to their polling place on election day, or those who will be absent from their municipality on Election Day. Request forms must be received by your county election board by 5 pm on April 16, 2024.
As soon as ballots are ready, you can request, receive, vote and cast your mail-in or absentee ballot all in one visit to your county election board or other officially designated site.

This gives you a permanent copy of a lot of the same information available to you in your Facebook account. Your Facebook archive can contain copies of your Timeline information, messages you have exchanged in chats, posts, photos and videos you have shared, anything from the Info section of your profile, and more.
Many records of the Secretary of State are already available online. Requesting a record through a public records act request that is already available online will result in delays in obtaining the record, as you will be redirected to the website where the record is available. (Government Code section 7922.545(a)). In addition, a lot of records that are not available online can be requested through an existing order form or process, which is often faster and more convenient than requesting the records as a public records act request. To expedite your request, please ensure that the record you are seeking cannot otherwise be obtained or requested from the Secretary of State outside of a public records act request. Some common examples are provided below.
For security of personal information, only individuals with specific qualifying relationships, also known as qualified applicants, to the subject of the requested record can receive a death certificate or fetal death certificate. Identity and proof of qualifying relationship documentation is required.
3. Put your important papers and copies of legal documents in one place. You can set up a file, put everything in a desk or dresser drawer, or list the information and location of papers in a notebook. For added security, you might consider getting a fireproof and waterproof safe to store your documents. If your papers are in a bank safe deposit box, keep copies in a file at home. Fees: Authentications fees are $20 per document for all services, including rejections and requests that are not ready to be processed by our office because they require additional certification. Please make sure to mail the correct fee with your request to avoid any delays in service.
Installment bills for the 3rd quarterly installment (December) for 2023 taxes have been emailed and mailed and are due December 31, 2023.
