Dear friends,

You are cordially invited to attend the next Kalamazoo Interfaith Forum on Sunday, December 7, 2014.

Location:

Gurdwara Singh Sabha Kalamazoo
5828 Cheshire St.
Portage, Michigan

Time:

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Topic: How does religion help or hurt when it comes to equality among races and ethnic groups?

We forgot to select a topic for December at our last meeting, but with Ferguson, Missouri in the news again, I thought that we might examine the role religion or spiritual views might play in helping to create greater understanding, acceptance and equality among races and ethnicities. At the same time, how might religious groups or individuals perpetuate division and misunderstandings?

We will follow our usual format this Sunday: Each participant will give a 5 to 7 minute explanation of her or his perspective on race/ethnicity and religion and then a group discussion will follow.

Thanks to the Sikh community at Gurdwara Singh Sabha for hosting us.

Sincerely,

Neil Chase
