Usa Alukali (Good morning),

On behalf of the Yamaye Taino People, we extend a warm invitation to you to join us in celebrating Boina Aganeuku, the Yamaye Taino New Year and Rainy Season Celebration. This joyous occasion marks the beginning of a new cycle and honors the rich heritage of our people in Jamaica.

We would be deeply honored by your presence at this significant cultural event.

The Celebration:

Dates:

  • Virtual Launch: Sunday, May 25th, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM EST.
  • In-person Celebration: Monday, May 26th at Woodside, St. Mary.

Virtual Launch Highlights:

We have a compelling program planned for our virtual launch, which you are warmly invited to attend:

  • Warm greetings from Indigenous relatives and colleagues across the Caribbean.
  • Captivating presentations of Language as various mediums to convey culture to the next generation.
  • Tekina Erei-Hinaru (Erica Neeganagwedgin) will share on Language as Life.

Your presence at either the virtual launch or the in-person celebration would be a tremendous honor and a powerful symbol of understanding and unity with our Indigenous community. We believe your engagement would be invaluable in fostering greater awareness and appreciation for our cultural heritage.

We understand the demands of your schedule, and we are happy to accommodate your participation in whichever format best suits you.

To help us make this year's celebration a success and ensure the continuity of our cultural work, we have launched a Fundrazr campaign. Your generous support will directly contribute to the vibrancy and impact of our New Year celebration and our ongoing efforts to revitalize our language and culture. If you are able to contribute, we would be deeply grateful for your support here: https://fundrazr.com/72Y393?ref=sh_d86LR8
