yo,

over the last couple of weeks i've been working on open civic data APIs. from some previous investigation into Austin open data I had a few links laying around:

near real time feed of car accidents: http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/qact/qact_rss.cfm
city of austin public services directory: http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/help/index.cfm?letter=All

i'm in the process of converting all of the GIS layers into an API (it will be available on http://civicapi.com once i'm done) and then i'll fork kajoo and mashup some interesting data

Hi Max,

That sounds absolutely awesome - branch away, hack away, all that stuff sounds wild.

Make sure you ping me and Matt Jording (ma...@kajoo.org) when you put your code up so we can jump in, look around and contribute.

Thanks,
Dan

Here's an idea - that polymaps stuff rocks.

At some point it would be great to add a "heatmap" based off those to the dashboard page (right now there's a placeholder  gmap that's geotargeted to the user).

Great to have you on board.
