This Saturday, in the LA Office of World Impact, the second TUMI-lite
class will be
offered. The topic is "Heaven". Much of the material presented will
be
drawn from Randy Alcorn's book by the same title. You can see the
description below.
Purpose: To give students a Biblical understanding of what heaven is
like, what the nature and reality of eternity is, and what the
implications of those truths mean for us now. They will be able to
list
and explain what the common misconceptions and heresies are about
heaven
and the Biblical rebuttals to those perspectives. They will be able
to
explain from Scripture what the New Heaven and New Earth will entail,
and will be able to refer to and quote many references from Scripture
that illuminate heaven for us. Lastly, they will have a new filter
through which to read Scripture that allows them to see and hope for
the
eternity which is spoken of throughout the Word of God. They will be
able to, as Randy Alcorn says it, “have a Biblical basis for
envisioning the eternal Heaven.”
The class is free, as always. Please pass this on to your networks of
people you think might be interested. It would be helpful to know how
many booklets to create, so if you plan on coming and/or bringing
people, please let me know by Friday. If you do not RSVP, you can
still
come, but you may not have a booklet of your own.
