Additionally, it provides instructors with guidance on enhancing content accessibility. This functionality enhances the learning experience for both students and instructors, empowering them to customize the experience according to their individual needs and preferences.

ChemDraw is a chemical structure drawing software package designed to help both the beginning chemistry student and the expert researcher, described as the gold standard for communicating chemistry research. EchoVideo is a video platform that allows students enrolled at the Health Profession Schools (HPS) to view recorded lectures, store and upload media, and share that media with others. This platform is only available to enrolled students at an HPS site or within the Music Therapy program.

Like OneDrive, EchoVideo allows students to upload an unlimited amount of media content (audio, video, and text-based files) into a personalized library. This library is private and not accessible by anyone other than the student. The guides below will cover how to store and share this content in a variety of ways.

Examplify is an assessment software by ExamSoft that is currently only available to students in the Health Professions Schools (HPS). If you are not a member or student of an HPS, you will not be able to use or login to Examsoft.

Examplify can be downloaded from your site's dedicated exam-taker portal, found below. Once on the site, login* to the 'Exam Takers' box with your ExamSoft ID and password and select the 'Download' option on the next page to download the program.

Food Processor is available to all students and is exclusively through the university's Virtual Computer Lab (vLab). Once logged in, you'll be able to find the Food Processor software on the Desktop or in the Start Menu (bottom left) of the virtual computer.

With over 15,000 on-demand courses and pathways waiting, free access to LinkedIn Learning is provided to all active UIW faculty, staff, and students.

MATLAB can be accessed and used from various university computer labs. Additionally, the MATLAB and Simulink suite can be accessed from any device with an internet connection through the university's Virtual Computer Lab (vLab).

MAXQDA is a software program designed for qualitative data analysis (QDA). It is widely used by researchers, academics, and professionals in various fields to analyze and interpret qualitative data, such as interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, documents, audio recordings, videos, and more

Microsoft 365 (aka Microsoft Office) is a full suite of apps and services to help you stay connected, be productive and creative, collaboratively work, and get things done. All UIW faculty, staff, and students can use their Cardinal Apps login credentials as passports to access a variety of Microsoft apps and services.

Microsoft 365, Microsoft Outlook (student email), and Microsoft OneDrive services are available for the duration of your enrollment at UIW. If you are not enrolled, these services will stay live for exactly one year from the last semester you were enrolled with UIW as a 'student'. For any questions on continuing access and retention policies related to these services, contact the UIW Help Desk.

Please note, the online versions of Microsoft products trade formatting and features for convenience. That means, these versions aren't as feature-filled as the desktop or mobile apps, so it's recommended to use those platforms if you are doing detailed work.

Forms is With Microsoft Forms, you can create surveys, quizzes, and polls, invite others to respond to it using almost any web browser or mobile device, see real-time results as they're submitted, use built-in analytics to evaluate responses, and export results to Excel for additional analysis or grading.

Microsoft Forms is only available online through a web-browser, as there are no downloadable or mobile versions available. Login to Cardinal Apps and find the Microsoft Forms app to get started.

The Immersive Reader is a free accessibility tool that's available in many applications or services across UIW. It is a sophisticated learning tool, developed by Microsoft, that is used to improve reading and focus for learners.

Immersive Reader is available in most Microsoft apps including Word, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, and the Edge Browser. Most importantly, It is also built into Canvas. Download this helpful information sheet to learn where locate the Immersive Reader in all these apps.

OneDrive is available for both Windows and macOS devices and comes pre-installed on all UIW-issued devices. If it is not installed, or you'd like to use OneDrive locally on your personal computing device, use the link below to get started.

The following information discusses the New Stream experience found in OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. Microsoft is retiring the current iteration of Stream (called Classic Stream) within the coming year. After August 1, 2023 you will no longer be able to upload content to Classic Stream and on Jan 1, 2024 the portal will be closed entirely.

Microsoft Stream is a video player built-into the Microsoft ecosystem, commonly denoted by it's pink color schema and rich-feature set. All videos upload into OneDrive or shared within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (such as SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) will play in the Stream video player and benefit from a bevy of features and conveniences for viewers.

Simply upload a supported video file to your OneDrive, SharePoint, or Teams site and your video will have all the benefits that Stream brings. Additionally, Stream offers a recording tool that can record your screen, microphone, and desktop.

As of June 1st, 2024, the University of the Incarnate Word will no longer support Zoom for video conferencing and online collaboration. We are excited to announce that we will be transitioning to Microsoft Teams, a dynamic communications platform that offers enhanced features and capabilities.

Poll Everywhere is a web-based audience response system that might be used by instructors or presenters to run activities and polls in their coursework. Students can login to their presenter's unique URL and participate in activities and class discussions.
