Hi everyone,

Said email address has been temporarily disabled.

It's been ages since I posted here. How's the local IT scene in CDO going? :)

Regards,
Matt

Thanks for sharing Paul.

I hope there will be a chance for those unfortunate (like me) who can't attend the seminar to have, maybe, a soft copy of the topics discussed. Or just a list of topics will do.

There's another GDG event coming up but it'll be on February 6 (details still to be follow).

The Jan. 26 event is geared towards IT professionals while the Feb 6 one is for students/the academe.

Here's the tentative program for the Jan. 26 Meetup (copy pasted from the GDG Organizers G+ Community):

PROGRAM FLOW:

Registration and Networking - c/o +Thezza Baluyos

Opening Remarks - +Jon Doblados

What is GDG, GBG, GDG Geek Girls? - Chelle Gray (GDG Program Associate for Southeast Asia, former Community Manager for GDG PH & GBG PH)

GDG Experience + Google Technologies - Josan Dometita

Show-and-Tell or Share experience as a developer:
15 mins each, max 10 people

Master of Ceremonies: +Michael Dave Tan and Joie Ann Maghanoy

Technical: +Raven Duran

I hope most of the guys here can attend the event and can participate sa show-and-tell sessions. :)

Regards,
Matt

[OffTopic]
Matt, apil sa geek girls imong sis? Anyway, 3 computer science grads na diay from clan Baluyos?

Sa Cebu diay ang initial members are more of from the non-programming aspect. Which is sad kay naa man unta GBG - Google Business Group. Ang naka una man gud lead sa GDG Cebu is gamay ra pure programmers (ang most people are there for the business and social networking reasons, and not the technology geeky goodness). So many things na technical events unta if held in other countries, mahimong social gathering nalang.

Example, in the Google API discussion, ginatawag nagud as vey technical na discussion ang paggamit sa image api..  kanang mo-pasa ra gud ug parameters sa http-url/uri. Mao to na discourage ang mga developers na gi-invite nako.

Hopefully mahimong more-dev-centric ang discussions sa GDG dani sa Cebu.

[Coder Dojo]
In another offtopic area, with another KLUGER, ardie, we joined the Coder Dojo of Cebu. We are not yet at the level of the other Coder Dojos internationally in the sense we are not yet targetting to teach grade school students. But ga help me teach some topics to college students sa UP, San Carlos and CIT.
