static jvm

Hi all. I am trying to port kaffe jvm onto my environment which supports only static libraries and does not have a tool chain to compile c++ programs. So, can anyone suggest me what are the things need to be considered for a jvm to be ported onto a static environment? Which version of kaffe can be tried for porting onto my platform? thanks in advance.
