Hi so I started a forge server for 1.16.5 and set everything up the right way. I added mods to the mods folder on the server folder and started up the server and everything went fine. I have the mods in my normal .minecraft mods folder was well but everytime i joined the server i would get an error saying "incomplete set of tags received from server minecraft" and I would get disconnected. So then I just loaded a version of forge without any mods installed and I was able to join the server without a problem. But the issue for me is that the server didn't load any of the mods in the mods folder so I don't know what to do. How do i configure the server so that it loads the mods I added? Any suggestions? thanks.

Curse/Overwolf: If you are using the Curse Launcher, their configurations break Forge's log settings, fortunately there is an easier workaround than I originally thought, this works even with Curse's installation of the Minecraft launcher as long as it is not launched THROUGH Twitch:

When you have an issue with your mod the most helpful thing you can do when asking for help is to provide your code to those helping you. The most convenient way to do this is via GitHub or another source control hub.

When setting up a GitHub Repo it might seem easy to just upload everything, however this method has the potential for mistakes that could lead to trouble later on, it is recommended to use a Git client or to get comfortable with the Git command line. The following instructions will use the Git Command Line and as such they assume you already have it installed and that you have created a repository.

Happy Friday! We're now releasing 1.16.5, which fixes two critical stability issues. We are not releasing more information about these issues at this time to protect servers that have not yet updated.

This release is network compatible with 1.16.4 - this means you do not need to upgrade your game right away to play on an upgraded server. However, we highly encourage all server owners to update as soon as possible to apply the stability fixes.

So Minehut automatically updated all servers to 1.17 (for whatever stupid reason).

Now I wan't my server to be 1.16 due to plugin support. But when i change it back to 1.16, it gives as error that there are chunks loaded with newer versions of minecraft so it doesn't start. I looked on the forums and found a same post and tried that, but that didn't work.

I tried:

1: Resetting the world in world tab of minehut panel

2: Deleting the files in the file manager tab

3: Use backups from before the server was updated to 1.17

All failed. So can anyone help me?

However, care must be taken when upgrading to Minecraft 1.16. Lots of posts and videos have been made on how to upgrade a singleplayer world, but even more care must be taken for multiplayer, as you have a lot of other players depending on you, the sysop, to maintain their builds, their contraptions, their stuff.

Optionally I can also take the world, world_the_end, and world_nether folders from the save, create a new 1.15.2 instance with my launcher and copy the save file in as its own world. There are some folder finagling steps that must be done, though.

That said, Spigot plugins are ALSO subject to waiting for the SpigotMC core release. And plugins are even less predictable than Spigot itself! With no sarcasm, it may be months of waiting for something like Dynmap or EssentialsX to become available. A bit of hunting for some hidden beta ore pre-releases of these plugins may be available somewhere, but it will be prudent to re-add them carefully.

So as soon as Spigot updates, the plan is to carefully follow the previous backup plan. One cannot be too careful with these sorts of things. It would be wise to first revert to Spigot/Paper, making sure the server is up to date, and starting it plugin-free. Once everything is started, it will be a fairly straightforward, though possibly lengthy process to re-download new versions of plugins, load them in one at a time, restart the server, verify that they work, all of that.

Recently I did the MineOS unofficial update thing, and though I now have the forge install options, I can not start the Forge servers. The vanilla works fine. I can start with the forge installer, but when I try to start it with the jar file, it wont start up. (I am trying to start the server with the Better Minecraft mod)

I am using and starting OSC on my Master-PC, OSC gets controlled by a touch screen at a LAN-Connected secondary PC.

When I start a Session-File in OSC 0.48.X and use for example Port 7500 I am able to remote access him via browser (opera, chrome) perfectly.

When I start a Session-File in the latest OSC and use for example Port 7500 I am NOT able to remote access him via the browser. "Website is not reachable" ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT.
