How do I use cheat codes in The Sims 4? Cheating in The Sims series is as much a traditional part of the game as building a wall around the pool and watching your Sim slowly drown. Our ultimate guide to The Sims 4 cheats will tell you all about how to enable cheats, and which cheats will give you loads of money to spend, let you build anywhere in the game, or just kill whichever Sims you don't particularly like. No judgement from us.

Not every cheat code in the game requires this, but many do. Now that's all taken care of, you're ready to begin using cheats in The Sims 4! There are a lot of Sims 4 cheats to play with, so we've split this page up into sections according to their purpose:

Money makes the world go round in The Sims 4, and just like in real life, it often feels like there's never enough of it. Luckily, there are money cheats aplenty to give your Sims a leg-up if you choose to provide them with one:

Traits are what give Sims their individual personalities. In The Sims 4 there are hundreds of traits in various categories, but they all have one thing in common: you can equip them on your Sim using the following cheat formula:

In the majority of cases, the cheat code name for a trait is just its in-game display name with no spaces. However, there are some exceptions, so please refer to the tables below for a full list of trait codes in The Sims 4.

Sims can practice a wide variety of skills to help advance them through their careers, fulfil their aspirations, and generally make day-to-day life easier and more rewarding. You can use the following cheat to set a Sim's proficiency level in any skill:

Sims are designed to age and die, but you can customise their lifespans in the gameplay options menu (including turning ageing off altogether). To really exercise power over life and death, however, you can use the following cheats:

Sims can take on occult status through gameplay, and with certain DLC you can create occult Sims in CAS. However, if you want to skip straight to the good part, these cheats will confer supernatural status on the active Sim right away:

And there you have it! Every single Sims 4 cheat at your fingertips. Whether your intention is to create a paradise for your Sims or a hellish life of suffering and torment (again, to each their own), you can now do exactly that.

Once opened, the cheat console will appear as a thin box at the top of the screen. Into that, you can type any of the cheats below or on other pages. To close the cheat console, simply press the same keys or buttons.

Additionally, some cheats require shift-clicking Sims or objects on the PC or Mac. To execute a shift-click on consoles, hold Circle and press X (on PlayStation 4) or hold B and press A (on Xbox One).

While motherlode and rosebud are beloved cheats, an easier way to get your sims the Simoleons they need is by typing "Money X" with X being the amount you want to give your household. You can also use this to subtract funds from your household.

The Sims 4 official FAQ says that seasonal events with the NPC Jessica Holiday aren't currently planned for The Sims 4 on console, but items from past events (like Sugar Skulls, Holiday Cracker Plushies, Decorative Eggs, and Magic Beans) are still in the game. You can get them using cheats.

In the Objects by Function menu select the Decorations tab. Go to the Misc decorations, scroll through all the new items, and you'll find Sugar Skulls and the other event collectibles. Buy them, drop them in the world, and have your Sims put the items in their inventory to have them add it to their "Household Collections."

While in the cheats console, pressing SHIFT+] also increase the size of objects. If you enable additional cheats using the testinghcheats true code and then type in cas.fulleditmode, you will enable all CAS abilities. Then you can press and hold SHIFT while clicking on the objects listed below to produce a menu that lets you select the corresponding effect.

The MoveObjects (or Move_Objects) cheat is a classic from the Sims franchise, and it returns in The Sims 4. To activate it, you must first open the cheat console. Into the box, type the following line including punctuation:

MoveObjects used to be used in the Sims franchise to shift household objects when Sims were stuck. The cheat is no longer necessary for this; even without cheats or mods, you can move objects at any time even if a Sim is interacting with them, and the Sim will terminate their actions and reset themselves to a nearby tile.

It is also important to note that, unlike the PC version, you will also have to give up earning Achievements and Trophies should you wish to activate cheats. Before we continue, please note that the following list of cheats and secrets has yet to be fully tested on the PS4/PS5, so keep that in mind when entering them into your game.

While in the cheats console for the PS4 or PS5, if you enable additional cheats using the testinghcheats true code and then type in cas.fulleditmode, you will enable all CAS abilities. Then you can press X + Circle on the selected sim to enable the sim or object interaction menu.

Also, with this cheat, it's possible to type in klapaucius or rosebud, then a number of ";!"s next to it. Each of these gives an additional 1,000, so the more you put in, the more money the family will get.

familyFunds can be used to increase or decrease a family's household funds by a specific amount, or set them to a specific level. It can also be used from the neighborhood screen. In theory, this allows it to be used on any family in the neighborhood, including those in the family bin, but there are limitations in practice if a family/household name is not unique.

In this game, the cheat gnome returns in the form of a buyable item named "Spoot". The player pauses the game and enters the code, where a message will pop up saying cheat mode is active. Upon buying the gnome, the money cheat is available from the gnome. Activating cheat mode will cause Trophies and Achievements to be locked in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

In this game, the player must find Heidi Shadows, a ninja. She can appear next to the Mansion in the east of town at 11 PM - 12 AM on some nights. Buying the ROSEBUD cheat will grant the player with 2,000.

In PSP version, go to "Buy Perks", then press "L + R + Square" repeatedly. It will unlock cheat perk, it's free to buy. Then, buy it, return to the game and press "Circle" button. Then press X to activate cheats and choose "Gain 1000", to get 1,000 per press, and caps at 99,999.[1][2]

The Cheat Gnome returns, although there is no real money cheat, there is a game glitch that can be exploited to obtain 9,999. After entering the Gnome code, Press the X (CROSS) button and there will be a blank space. Click that and you will go into the cheat gnome. Input UP, LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, R to will advance time by six hours. Do it a second time (repeat the code) and you have an option to give your Sim 9,999.
