Hi guys,

We are starting a great research project. We need someone with 3d design skills to produce a 3d model of a kaba gaida chanter. Anyone?

I will ask my friend and see. He is a certified professional engineer and knows AutoCAD. I imagine this project is heading towards 3D printing?

Fortunately one cannot print the bag yet. Maybe kitchen foil {TM} will do it.

My engineering friend does not have AutoCAD 3D. However I talked to other friends. One recommended taking a chanter to a place with a 3D scanner. There are engineering firms that have such devices and can map 3D objects. Those scanned objects can then be used to print a copy of the scanned object. Another friend suggested using OpenSCAD. as AutoCAD is fairly expensive. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. I will look for an engineering firm that might be interested in scanning the chanter.

Hi Cvetelin,

I will be happy to join the project.
If there is any time left after practicing on my just received kaba gaida... I am using it for my full time job which involves laser scanning, photogrametry scanning, 3D modeling and 3D printing.
Actually I have  started working on some 3D models already.
3D scanning and modeling of the  bag is the most challenging and time consuming, but it is possible.
