Hello everyone, my name is Andrew Chung.

I am a recent graduate of Purdue University with degrees in both
Actuarial Science and Statistics and minor in Management. I've also
passed first two actuarial exams and planning to take MFE on
November.

I was in Indiana for college and I just moved to California because of
family reason. However, I do consider relocation if necessary.

Since my last semester in college, I've applied to almost every
openings that insurance companies might have but I never got a single
call back from them. I do understand the economic situation and many
companies are hire freeze but it seems like no companies are
interested in hiring entry levels.

Could you guys give me some advise??

Hello Andrew

Most of Actuarial Student Programs offered by life insurance companies
are offered through Career Development offices and usually there is a
recruiting job fairs held in various schools starting March to May. I
don't know if you've tried web sites of the companies you are
interested.

Also it is a good idea to work with recruiters.

Did you try web pages?? Would you be interested in working in East
Coast?

Also it is a good idea to send your resume addressed to a person. Not
knowing your circumstance I cannot offer other suggestions.

You could send me a copy of our resume if you would be interested in
working for a company in the East Coast.

Wish you the best of luck
