Hey,

I just thought I'ld introduce myself :) I'm Ben, a secondary school
student in Clane. I'm really into linux/FOSS and think that it's great
that there is something local. I'm a mac user primarily, but work with
Debian and Ubuntu on a daily basis.

Thanks,
Ben

My name is Alan I spell it the Irish way Ailin, . I live near
Robertstown,I work fro CPL/HP doing tech support, quite boring. I been
using Linux on and off for about 9 years, but it's has only in last 5
years that been using it seriously. I'm a Ubuntu guy, since brezy have
EEPC100 with UNR and just recenly install Xubuntu on my main computer. I
also have EEPC 701 which I'm thinking of install Backtrack 3. as i like
to get in to pen testing ( hacking for a living).

Suppose it is my turn now:)

We recently moved to Maynooth and I work as a network engineer in Dublin for a large ISP and secetary of ILUG (www.linux.ie).
I run Ubuntu on my laptops and desktops and also have a mac book pro which I am coming to grips with.
I have being working with Unix/Linux based systems for about 8 years but am getting less technical as the years go on.

My turn?

I'm Ryan, from Hays, Kansas. I work as one of the two Unix admins at
the local university here, Fort Hays State University. I primarily
admin the servers running the uni's online course systems both
domestically and at two partner universities in China. I also admin
servers running the online course system for a nearby two-year trade
school (North Central Kansas Technical College), the uni's single
sign-on system, and one or two components of the student email system.
All in all I work with Red Hat, Debian, Ubuntu, and occasionally some
Solaris 8 on a daily basis.

As far as LUG involvement goes I'm one of the two who head up the North
Central Kansas LUG. We usually have a couple of meetings a month in two
separate towns in north central and northwest Kansas and usually have
around 6 to 8 people at each. As far as the Kildare LUG goes I of
course won't be able to make meetings on a regular basis, but I will
make an effort to drop by whenever I'm in the area (next February or
March most likely).

Ryan
