I activate SmartSDR. And I click SDRAutoCenter and it finds my radio. But for some unknown reason it is not centering my Frequency box. I move the tuning knob and the box continues to go across the screen instead of the freuqencies on SmartSDR. I even deleted and program and reinstalled it, and it still doesn't work.

Mark,

SDRAutoCenter has 2 different modes of operation:
  1. Centered Mode
  2. Panadapter Edge Mode
In Centered Mode, the panadapter will scroll "behind" the slice, keeping the slice centered.  This mimics that operation of PowerSDR on the FLEX-1500/3000/5000 radios. NOTE: The movement of the panadapter behind the slice is not smooth, but rather jerky. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of SmartSDR & there is not much that I can do about it.

In Panadapter Edge Mode, as you tune, the slice will move across the panadapter, but when you approach the edge, the panadapter will jump to position the slice at the opposite edge.   I use this mode for search & pounce in contests.  If I am working my way up  or down the band, this keeps what is ahead of me visible to the maximum extent & I don't have to manually shift the panadapter.

To switch modes, right-click on the AutoCenter display & check or uncheck "Panadapter Edge".

If this does not resolve your issue, please let me know.

Ray,
I load the program, and it connects to my radio. But I do not see any screen where I can choose either center mode or panadapter mode. Plus, I do not see a AutoCenter Display.  I'm at a loss, because I do not see the flexibility of making changes. I am currently using Windows 11.

Here is another question. Must I have SmartSDR operating first than load SDR Autocenter? Or is it the opposite way? I load SDR Autocenter first and then load SmartSDR?

Ray,
For some reason I am not seeing these other screens that you are talking about. Plus I do not see a Autocenter Screen.

Mark,

When you start SDRAutoCenter for the first, the display is positioned in the upper left-hand corner of your screen. You can move it to anywhere on the screen by holding the CTRL key down & dragging it with the mouse.

The display is not a traditional window like you are used to.  It is merely the text "AutoCenter" on a dark background.  Right-click on the text and the menu will pop up.

Mark,

It does not matter.  As long as your radio is turned on, you can start SDRAutoCenter. SmartSDR does not have to be running.  Of course, if SmartSDR is not running, then SDRAutoCenter is irrelevant.

Ray,
Okay I see what you mean by the screen at the top left. I have it set to automatically start and in the centered moe.
But it was my understanding that the program would move the frequency line and the Top section which has the numerical frequency and the TX A or TX B in it should stay in the center and not move.
Mine does, and I don't know why.

Mark,

Right-click on the display and make certain that “Panadapter Edge” is not checked.

Ray,
The only thing that is checked on the display is Center RX Filter.
