Using the latest SVN checkout of K2 on WordPress 2.7, threaded comments
work great--but I found a CSS bug: when the post author makes a comment,
and someone else replies to it, the background color of the post author's
comment is applied to that reply, even if it isn't by a registered user or
the post author.
The fix: change the CSS styles that give comments by registered users and
the post author, so that only the div.comment immediately under the
li.byuser or li.bypostauthor has the background color applied to it. This
is easily done with the CSS child selector, explained here

My patch for this is attached and works fine for simple
author-nonauthor-author-etc. comment threads, and should work similarly for
user-nonuser-user-etc. and also contains an untested but theoretical fix
for the li.bypostauthor blockquote entry.
