Hi everyone,
Thanks for helping test K2 Companion. A quick update on what is new and what happens next.
What is new in the latest build:
- AI failure detection: turn on and fine-tune the K2's own on-printer detection, with sensitivity presets and a camera snapshot when it pauses a print.
- New G-code and Klipper console.
- Print-finished and failure alerts now arrive with a photo from the printer camera.
- More reliable notifications, including overnight on battery-saving phones.
- Automatic switching between home Wi-Fi and remote access, both ways.
- Find your K2 on the network automatically, plus manual IP entry with validation.
- Settings moved to their own screen, with a round of fixes and polish.
(Earlier builds added the live remote camera, bed mesh heatmap, file browser, CFS filament control and Klipper config backup.)
Pricing:
The app is free to testers until 27 June. After that, assuming everything is looking good, it moves to a full production release on Google Play priced at 1.99. That is a one-time purchase, with no subscription and no account, ever.
So now is a good time to get it installed and put it through its paces on real prints.
How you can help:
Please keep using it and send anything you find, good or bad, straight from the app (Settings, then Send feedback), or just reply here. Bugs, rough edges and feature ideas are all welcome.
