to K2 Companion Testers
Hi everyone,
A large K2 Companion update (1.4.1) is on its way to you now. It is going
through Google review and will update automatically on the closed-testing
track within a few hours, so there is nothing you need to do. Once it lands,
here is what is new.
NEW FEATURES
- Multi-colour printing: when you print a multi-colour file, you can now
choose which CFS spool prints each colour. Want a part's red printed from a
different spool? Just remap it before you start, no re-slicing needed.
- Cancel a single object mid-print: tap a failed part on the live build plate
(or in the list) and only that object stops. The rest of the plate keeps
printing. Great for multi-part plates when one part lifts.
- Live tuning: adjust max speed, acceleration and pressure advance on the fly,
run a PID calibration, and save the result to your config, all from the app.
- Config editor: browse and edit your printer's Klipper config files directly
in the app, with an automatic backup taken on every save and a one-tap
restart to apply.
- New bottom navigation: the app now has Dashboard, Files and Tools tabs for
much quicker access to everything.
POLISH AND FIXES
- A new glowing gradient progress ring and heat-glow temperature tiles so you
can read printer state at a glance.
- General stability and security improvements under the hood.
WHAT WOULD HELP US MOST
If you can, please give these a try and let us know how they behave on your
machine, especially:
- A multi-colour print with a CFS, including remapping a colour to another spool.
- Cancelling a single object during a real print.
- Editing a config file and restarting.
- Tuning values, and PID calibration if you run one.
Tell us your K2 model (K2, K2 Plus or K2 Pro) with any feedback, since behaviour
can vary between them.
You can send feedback straight from the app (gear icon, Send feedback) or just
reply to this email. Every report helps, and thank you for testing.
