Folks

I've got 2 users with Outlook 2010 in IMAP mode.

Can I have Outlook access our school's GAFE directory when searching for email addresses?

Thanks a bunch!

Well, so far, this seems the only way to make outlook "see" and "search" our Google directory

I'm testing it now on my machine and, while it will take a long time to do the very first "sync" of all my emails, it's giving me the Google directory already

Stop over when you get a minute to see it

We use this for Outlook 2007 and although it will access your GAFE directory, it will not auto-fill.  In outlook if you click on the "TO:" button you can then select people from your directory as you use Outlook it will remember the addresses so they will auto-fill that way.  When the sync works it works well, but it has had enough issues over the last few months to be considered an annoyance.  The last issue we had was accessing other people's calendars and it took Google about a month to fix.  To be honest I wish I would not have given this as an option and forced people to only use G-mail.

Thanks,

100% agreed Mike.  We never offered Outlook as an option.  Conceptually, why would you want to have your GAFE cloud hosted profile tethered to a local mail client?  I understand familiarity, but sometimes you have to cut the cord.
