Removing attachment in gmail

How do I remove an attachment from an email before I send it?

I often add one then realize I don't want it. I cannot see how to delete an attachment before sending.

I end up trashing the whole email and starting again.

Also, can you look at the attachment before you send to be sure you've picked the right one off the HD?

I'm on a mac and use Apple Mail and the answer is yes.

Are you using a client or the web interface?

If your talking about the web client, you just uncheck the box next to the file you attached.
