Google Docs Error

Can anyone help with this issue?
Here is the message:

Google Docs has encountered an error. We are looking into the problem now.

Please try one of these interim solutions:
  • Reload this page.
  • Download the document by right-clicking on it in the main document list and selecting "Export."

I have tried with different web browser, different user accounts and different computers- no luck. 
I was able to download the document from the list view at least- but would like to know more in case the copy of the document encounters the same problem.

I noticed that a lot of people reporting this error were using:

Avast! Web Rep

And it disappeared when they removed it.
