Hello,
I would like a member of an affiliated organization (i.e. parent-teacher association) to be able to send emails to one of our Google groups, however I would not like this person to receive messages sent to this group.

Is this possible in Google Groups?  I've looked at the settings and have not been able to figure it out so far.

Currently, I am forwarding the message to the list on this person's behalf.

Thanks in advance.
Matt

Had the exact same need but also could not find the right combination for permissions. I wound up setting up a generic email account that is a member of the group and forwards the messages to the group based on filters.

Here are the settings you want (see image below). This will allow anyone with the email address to the group to send an email to it, only allow the owner to view past messages, and only those you invite to the group to be members (you could then change rights to those people to see past messages if you like).Inline image 1

Sounds like that would work too. Unfortunately though you can't restrict who can send, it has to be 'Anyone'. Ultimately this was the reason we decided to use the generic account with forwarding filters.
