Teacher gets email response from every person she shared a doc with

Teacher shares a document with, say, 17 people.

The teacher gets, in her inbox, the exact same "Susie Jones has shared a document with you" that the 17 receivers are getting. It's as though she's being BCCd on every one.

Is there a setting somewhere that's causing this?
