Geeks and fellow Google users...

We are having an issue where our teachers share a document with their students via sharing in google drive but the students all of a sudden are not getting emails inviting them to edit the document so they don't know they have been shared a document unless they go into the Drive App and click on Shared With Me, and then they see the document there to be edited.  Is this happening to anyone else?  Am I missing a setting somewhere in the Admin console so that no one gets an invitation email?

The document is shared because we can see it in the Shared With Me link, but the students just aren't getting an email saying there has been a document shared with them.  What am I missing?

Well, it is possible for the sharer (teacher) to uncheck the "Notify people I've shared this document with them" option when sharing. I doubt it's that, but it doesn't hurt to mention.

Is the email perhaps going into the students' Spam folder?

I haven't tested recently, but we ran across similar behavior when a teacher shared a document that was already in a shared folder - the students didn't get notification since they already had access to the folder.  Might be worth asking about...

I have seen this with docs that in Google Classroom folders. If a student shares a doc that is in a G Class folder with another student, no email is sent. But it is in Shared with me.
