Hello all,

I have some Samsung Series 5 Chromebooks that I am getting ready to deploy.  I bought them from a different vendor than Google but have purchased the management for these units and that all seems to be good to go.

I have enrolled 3 so far. When they first come up in a students account, it loads up in incognito mode. I restart a few times and it goes away. Here is my real issue

On CB 1 that was enrolled before Christmas, the homepages that I set up for the user come up and other policies appear - No apps that I have set to install automatically load

On Chromebook 2  (been enrolled a couple of days) the apps that I have set up install but none of the policeis like CB1 show up (certain homepages, security settings etc.)

Both of these say that there is an error to connect to device management, however, they both say managed by k12coffee and they did log on to for enrollement

CB 3 I just did and it is similar to CB 2, no security and the apps did not load.

How long does it take for a chromebook to pick up it's policies after enrollment? Any suggestions - As far as I can tell all settings between the Chromebooks are the same. I am using the 2 accounts for all 3 chromebooks.

Thanks so much for any input you may have.

Randy,

I’ve never experienced any delay in policies, but there is a very simple policy interface on the devices you should look for more info.  Just go to chrome://policy in the chrome browser on the chromebook.    All user and device policies can be viewed and filtered.  Here you can also see when the policies were last fetched and even force a policy refresh from the device.

Good luck,

It almost sounds like you logged into the chromebooks before enrolling them.  Because what you are describing happened to us when we did our first roll out.

I would recommend.  wiping the chromebook, reinstalling the os, and then re-enrolling them.

The policies, in my experience, have been instant once they were enrolled.

The other thing to check is on the dashboard, you can set apps and other policies to be different for different OU's in your google domain.  Have you verified that they are all the same for the different OU's?

Is there a way to force a policy refresh for all devices at once?

Without going hands on? You can set the policy refresh window to the shortest interval (30 min I think) - they all should check in every time they login. Should cover your fleet soon.
