Prevent students from emailing a group?

Hello all,

We have staff and students on the same domain. We are using GADS and GAPS to sync with AD. We have an email group called DISTRICT ALL STAFF. When we used Exchange for our email, we prevented anyone from sending anything to this address by setting up a rule stating you has to be part of X group to be allowed to send mail to this address. This prevents abuse and also the accidental reply.

I'm looking for a similar solution under Google.  How can I prevent anyone except 3 people from being able to email to a specific distribution group?

The group itself in GAFE can have Owners, Managers and Members set. Make all the recipients members, make the 3 senders owners/managers and set the group permissions (in the Google Groups web management interface) to allow only owners/managers (can be either or) to send to group, and also set the group membership viewing, archive searching etc rights while you're there. GADS will create the group (GAPS won't affect it), but there are downstream and very granular settings you can apply that don't exist/won't sync over from GADS necessarily (due to settings or no counterpart existing in AD to sync up).

We do it the same way as JP. The only warning/downside is, the first year, when the seniors graduated, I accidentally suspended the guidance counselors, principal's secretary, etc. because they were all in the same group and my script didn't know the difference.  ;)  Haha.
