Folks

We're a 600+ student urban public high school with a 1-1 laptop program

Over the past 1-2 years, the teachers have been increasing the # of lesson plans that require students to 'listen' to content and the teachers have been purchasing and trying to manage headphones for students.

I'm looking for any recommendations on headphone management from schools doing something similar.

Our students are mostly low income, too.

Thanks a bunch!

We are a Title I school that is about 75% economically disadvantaged. We are a Chromebook, Google Classroom Middle School campus and have teachers using or creating short videos for instruction which require headphones.

For the past two years, we have had earbuds on the supply list.

The first year, I had two "loaner" baskets for teachers to check our for use. They never return with as many headphones as when they left my office!

This year, I started selling them at school myself. I buy at Dollar Tree and sell for $1. I am only out the tax, and the students all buy them. Students must try them out immediately, and there is a "no return" policy!

Teachers have also purchased sets from me for their classroom.

It seems to work out well.

We're a jr. middle boarding school grades 4-9. Similar to Twyla, we get cheap often disposable earbuds or headsets. We prefer headsets for the younger kids, upper grades just get the cheaper earbuds. do yourself a favor and buy in bulk.

we've used the tok-tok headsets quite a bit... daily studyhall plus classroom use, and so far they've lasted about 3 years:
Amazon.com: 20 Quantity - Hi-Fi Stereo Headphone (Great for School & Library, H5) by goBulk: Home Audio & Theater

for earbuds, whatever's cheap. when you're buying 200 at a time, expect a few to be DOA, but when you're only paying 40-50 cents a set, the loss is negligible.
we've used the tok-tok earbuds, they're not super comfy, but they have a pretty low DOA rate:

Kids prefer the silicone ones though:
