I have had three of my schools ping me within the last day about emails with the following message

"This message is being sent to you because you are a moderator of the group school-staff.

The following suspicious messages were sent to your group, but are being held in your moderation queue because they are classified as likely spam messages.

If you take no action, all the messages below will be discarded automatically as spam.

However, if you see any messages that are not spam below, you may approve them individually by going to:"

Has something changed just recently?  We have been using google apps for the last year and have not had to moderate messages from emails originating from members of the group.  Any ideas?  For now I have turned off spam queuing.

It seems like they tightened up the spam filters. For groups that I trust, I turn off moderation in the group settings.

I think Google has screwed something up here, because it seems a majority of my groups email messages are ending up in the spam queue.  Something the old adage of if its not broke don't fix it really is true.

I am just telling people to turn off moderation. Most groups are very isolated and the risk of spam is very low

Same here, many more incidents of this lately.  I apply Henry's method each time I see a blocked message, but I'm not crazy about opening them up like that.  You'd think it wouldn't flag as spam emails that came from members of the group...

I suggest we all create support cases for this so Google hears our frustration.

Reporting back after Google contacted me they suggested adding a SPF record to our DNS so that the messages can be received properly.  If you contact them they will tell you the exact line you need to add to your DNS settings.  I suggested they needed to communicate this change better and CSR agent agreed that a mis-communication occurred and Google hoped to better communicate such changes in the future.
