We are seriously considering Typing Agent. We did a three week pilot with Typing Pal, Typing Club and Typing Agent. We surveyed students, teachers and kids. Here is the info:
Easy to use - Has some district information. Different URLs for each school. Has some games for students to use to practice on. Can add some district content. Can customize for each student wpm, accuracy. They have three environments but it primarily is the look and a little of the practice texts change. Report card feature. Upload using csv feature
Typing Agent - is a paid application - has an iPad option- has Google Sign in - has a collaborative/email option to use for digital citizenship. Is aligned to Common Core.
District reports are coming soon. Many levels to this - 4 environments. The changes between the environments are obvious with different practice during lesson and during passages. We are going to use it for 2-5 and maybe 6-8. Has different games we can turn on and off for use at home or practice. Can add some district content. Can customize for each student each student wpm, accuracy. Created by a teacher. (willing to make changes for future upgrades) Report card feature. Upload using csv feature. Does capital letters in the middle of words for key practice.
Typing Club is a free application but if you want a way to look at data across the district you will need to pay for the school edition. The free edition - each teacher would need to sign up for and import their kids.
The information of the difference between paid and free is here. This application also does not have any games to support the typing practice. (This can be fine since there are many others but then you need to supply that.)
All are online so home/school access is great.
Kids liked Typing Agent over Typing Pal (typing club the least).
Teachers were split between Typing Agent and Typing Pal
Parents liked typing pal but it was a small number.
I hope this helps.
