A real dillema

Ok folks....I hope you have some insight for me on this one..

We're a G-Suite Education/Enterprise School

We use Windows 10 laptops

We're 100% virtual right now

I've got one student with an issue that's really got me stumped.

Weeks ago he started reporting that during online classes, his laptop would just shut down.

Ok, so we did things like clear chrome cache, tried Edge Chromium, and went through 4 different laptops.

Problem will not go away.

Here's the kicker....last week, he used his Mom's Dell laptop and the same thing happened!!

So I had him test a different G-Suite account

No problem

Went back to his original account, .....shut down.

He's one of 140+ students in 10th grade and they all get the same policies from G-Suite domain.

The event viewer in windows is showing me nothing.

I don't know where to look next.

Sounds like he has a malware/mining extensiom tied to his google profile  Disable/delete all extenstions

We had one of those a couple of weeks ago…turned out the kid was fidgety and was accidentally hitting the power button on the side of the computer.  It really wasn’t deliberate.  It took a close observation to catch it, and a custom GPO tied to the machine account to solve it.  (The power button no longer works to shut it down or make it go to sleep)
