I seen other people with wireless issues on a Chromebook on this list. Had anyone contacted google yet to see what will cause this behavior?

We had a BAD start with ChromeBooks in one of our elementary labs.  They would connect and then drop connections.  It was ugly!  I finally got our network guy involved, and he did contact Google.  He worked back and forth with them for a couple of weeks.  They ended up updating software and we replaced our wireless access points.  Things seemed to smooth out, and by the time we rolled out the second lab at our Middle School, things have been very smooth!  Hope this helps!  I remember being ready to run back in July when our year-round building was ready to attack!!!

What did you replace your wifi system to?

What did they say was causing the dropped connections?

We are experiencing the same issue. I had my network support remote in last night and look things over. What they saw was that the Chromebooks were jumping between the BG network and the N network (2.4 to 5 GHz) which they currently believe may be causing the issue. They made a change to not allow jumping and I am having my staff evaluate and test today to see if it is better.

I just talked with our Network Engineer.  He said he swapped out our first APs and replaced them with NetGear ProSafe WNAP210 units.  He set them to use only N, and then he worked with Google ... they made a number of software updates, so we made sure all of our ChromeBooks updated as well.  I may be in over my head explaining further, but things have improved:-)

I just talked to my 2 teachers with a cart of Samsung 550s and they haven't had a wireless issue in a few days. But my teacher with 5 Samsung 500 has. Could it be CB model specific? I did see the 550's lose wireless also when the kids first used them a few days ago. The class with the 500's does have 10 iPads and 5 Asus netbooks on the same AP. I believe the Ipads run on 5GHz but the netbooks might be 2.4. Maybe the AP accommodating the netbooks is dumbing down the signal and causing my issue.
