Can an email be totally deleted from the domain

This is an urgent matter.  We had a student use a public group email address that is only to be used by the teachers.  Needless to say the email went out to the entire sophomore class and of course is inappropriate.  Does anyone know if I go into the student's account and delete the email, will it delete it from the entire domain as well, or only from his account?

I THINK that if it was sent and not stopped immediately, it cannot be retrieved.

Short of going into each student's account there is no way to remove it

If you have someone that can work with scripts, something like this might at least move the message to trash for the list of users...

Agreed, and that's an aggressive move.  Not to mention that they may have already forwarded it outside of the domain.

Sounds like an email needs to go out to teachers and/or parents at this point...
